Butcher’s Broom

Butcher’s Broom (Ruscus Aculeatus) is a low evergreen Eurasian shrub, with flat shoots known as cladodes that give the appearance of stiff, spine-tipped leaves. Ruscus’s common name Butcher’s Broom hails from one of its original uses: in Europe, Ruscus species were traditionally harvested for their flat and stiff branches to make small brooms that were used for clearing off and cleaning butchering blocks

Butcher’s Broom is a plant with remarkable vasoprotective properties, thanks to the high content of steroidal saponins and ruscogenine in its roots, from which the extract is obtained. It tones up the microcirculation vases, guaranteeing a greater elasticity of the precapillary sphincters and a reduced dilatation of the same vases.
