Opuntia Ficus Indica

Originally from Mexico but currently usable in the Mediterranean areas with a mild climate, Opuntia Ficus Indica, commonly known as Prickly Pear, can also grow in many Italian regions, such as Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia and Basilicata.

The exclusive and precious Prickly Pear oil is a fantastic concentrate of nutrients: essential fatty acids (especially omega-6), antioxidants such as polyphenols and sterols, as well as vitamins and carotenoids.

In fact, ß-carotene is a well-known endogenous photoprotective substance that effectively combats the free radicals damage induced by sunlight, and is a precursor of retinol, which in turn is an excellent emollient and anti-inflammatory ingredient.

It significantly improves the appearance of aged and photo-damaged skin, giving elasticity and volume and promotes cell turnover, illuminating the complexion.
